Taiza, located in the northernmost part of Kyoto Prefecture on the Tango Peninsula. This is a world cherished as an ideal land by ancient empresses, a world where the sky, sea, and earth coexist in strength and beauty. All of our hospitality is designed to allow you to feel the richness of living in harmony with the great nature that has been passed down through generations. Please spend an unchanging "moment of the heart" that transcends time. The Origin of Sumihei— It all began with Heikichi Shimoda, a master carpenter, who used to entertain guests and fellow carpenters. In the first year of the Meiji era, he started a culinary business. Known for his skill in ink marking, Heikichi was affectionately called "Sumiya no Hei-san" (Hei-san of the Ink Shop) by the locals. From this, the name "Sumihei" was born, and over time, it was officially renamed "Sumihei." Today, it operates as the most historic Property in Tango Town. The spirit of hospitality of "Sumiya no Hei-san" has been passed down through six generations and continues to this day.
