Kurashiki × Stays Popular For SunsetsRecommended Hotel·Ryokan
Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of the sea and mountains. Architecture and furniture born from handcrafted artistry. This is not a glamorous or convenient place. There’s no phone signal, no TV, and no Wi-Fi. It’s located at the end of a steep hill, and nights are pitch dark. However, we take pride in our baths. Indoors, you’ll find a bath meticulously crafted by skilled artisans through repeated effort and polishing to perfection. Outdoors, we offer another option—a cypress open-air bath for your enjoyment. Close your eyes, listen to the sound of waves or birdsong as you immerse yourself in water. At night, under a sky full of stars, let yourself be enveloped by the soothing scent of cypress wood. And then there’s the sea stretching out before you. The tranquil evening glow paints an emotional scene at sunset; at night, moonlight reflects on the water creating a path of light across its surface. On cloudy or rainy mornings shrouded in misty air—ships passing through seem as though they’re gliding across the sky itself. We hope to guide our guests into this way of life here with us.There are no grand celebrations prepared nor lavish hospitality offered.Instead—we wish simply share what feels truly special even after experiencing it daily: "cherished simplicity."Heima means "home" in Icelandic—a place that might become someone’s home for their heart here too someday!

Its timeless charm continues to captivate visitors.Kurashiki Inn is located in the heart of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. This culinary inn offers a serene retreat with its traditional architecture and tranquil garden views. The guest rooms, limited to just 8, are renovated from historical buildings such as an Edo-period storage house.
