Founded in 1868, this Accommodation has built over 240 years of history as a guardian of its hot springs and has now been reborn as a dog-friendly Accommodation. Savor the milky, free-flowing hot spring water from three private sources in the large public bath and open-air bath. Enjoy a relaxing, steam-filled stay with your beloved dog through Japanese-style hospitality experiences such as the courtyard dog run and special ema plaques for dogs.

  • Thank you very much for your hospitality. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy another wonderful time with our dog. When we visited in autumn, the breakfast style was different, but I thought the simpler format was great. The open-air bath with snowflakes drifting down was also amazing. We love Nikko in every season and would love to stay again. Thank you in advance.

  • This was our second time staying with our dog. At the first Accommodation, we never left the Room, so we didn’t interact with other guests. Here, they offered a welcome drink with sake and traditional sweets, and we could enjoy them while meeting other dogs. The Room was very clean and we were extremely satisfied. We could also dine together with our dog, so we didn’t have to leave him alone in the Room, which was reassuring. Our dog barks easily, but since other guests also had dogs, no one seemed bothered by it. Because everyone had dogs, it felt friendly and relaxed—people would greet each other naturally. All the staff were kind and courteous. If I had to mention one thing, meal service felt a little slow. I imagine they may be short-staffed, but dinner was delicious—and since we were having beer while waiting, it didn’t bother us at all. We were able to eat at a leisurely pace. Dessert ended up being delayed as well, so they kindly brought it to our Room. There was also a late-night snack: ramen (of course free). So in the end it was perfect—dinner with beer, then ramen, then dessert in the Room. We’d definitely like to come again. Also, your feet can get cold here, so bringing socks is highly recommended.
