Shogawa Onsen Tonamino Shogawasou Ichimantei

I stayed here for a hike up Mt. Kongodo.This Accommodation offered great value for the price and was very welcoming for solo travelers. The open-air Onsen surrounded by cherry blossoms was beautiful, and the cold plunge was ice-cold—I enjoyed the Onsen again and again. Around Tonami City, No Meals Included stays are usually around 8,000 yen, so this place felt like an exceptional deal and very satisfying. It was all-inclusive, but what I enjoyed most was Tonami’s water—simply delicious. I might stay here again when I climb Mt. Ningyo as well.

We had a very satisfying stay this time.The customer service from the front desk staff and the restaurant staff was so warm that it truly moved us.For example, when they asked our child’s age at check-in, a high chair was already set at our table in the restaurant. When we told them about an item we had forgotten and were having trouble without, they worked hard to find a substitute. They also spoke to our child with a friendly smile during meals. It may have been because it was the off-season, but we still really appreciated it.The exterior does look old, but it seems various Facilities have been renovated, and cleaning was thorough—we never felt it was dirty.The kids’ room and the raised area in the open-air bath were also very helpful for spending time with our child. The only drawback is that there are stairs to reach the open-air bath, which may be difficult for guests with weak legs or back issues.We made our Reservation because we were drawn to the steamed dishes. It might feel a bit light for those who want a hearty meal, but it was very satisfying for our great-grandmother over 80 and grandmother in her 50s.We noticed other tables had sukiyaki and sashimi included, so those seem to be available under a different Plan.This time we may also have been lucky with other guests staying there, but overall we had a wonderful stay. We’re already thinking about searching for our next Reservation (lol).
