15 minutes by car from Asahikawa Station, and a 1-minute walk from the Takasagodai 8-chome bus stop.

Takasago Onsen is a Showa retro-style spa Hotel located in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, nestled in a nature-rich hilly area. The Onsen features a variety of baths, including an impressive rock bath made with natural stones transported from "Kamui Kotan," which means "the place where gods dwell" in the Ainu language, an ozone bath, and a Chinese herbal medicine bath. From the open-air bath, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of Asahikawa City and the beautiful Daisetsuzan mountains, with the added charm of night views in the evening. The facility is equipped with a sauna and private family baths, making it especially popular among families and couples. The interior has been renovated, offering a well-equipped restaurant and relaxation spaces, providing visitors with a serene environment to unwind both physically and mentally.

  • Thank you for your hospitality. I stayed alone for a therapeutic visit, and the dining staff were very kind, with delicious meals. I also stayed last year, but unfortunately, the bus service has become much less convenient compared to then. The renovations have improved the facility overall, but having newspapers or magazines available would make it even better. It would also be nice to have water provided in the changing room. I hope to stay again if I have another opportunity!

  • I enjoyed the ultimate tamago kake gohan (rice with raw egg) during breakfast. The meringue was excellent. I look forward to staying here again next time!

Notice from the Accommodation

  • [Important Notice] Introduction of the “Accommodation Tax” Effective April 1, 2026

Due to ordinances enacted by Asahikawa City and Hokkaido, an Accommodation Tax will be introduced for stays from April 1, 2026.
Regardless of when the Reservation is made, all stays on or after April 1 will be subject to this tax.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as this initiative supports the creation of a more comfortable and attractive tourist destination.

The Accommodation Tax is charged per person per night: JPY 200 for Asahikawa City plus an additional amount for Hokkaido.
For an Accommodation Fee under JPY 20,000, the total is JPY 300; for JPY 20,000 to under JPY 50,000, the total is JPY 400; and for JPY 50,000 or more, the total is JPY 700.
The tax must be paid together with the Accommodation Fee at check-in or at settlement.

The Accommodation Tax will be used to promote tourism in Hokkaido and Asahikawa City.
It will support improvements to visitor facilities; enhanced multilingual guidance and communication infrastructure; development of tourism content that leverages Asahikawa’s unique nature, food culture, and local heritage; congestion mitigation measures; and improved transportation convenience.

The tax applies regardless of age; however, children who incur no Accommodation Fee due to Child Sharing Existing Bedding are exempt.
It applies regardless of purpose (including sightseeing, business travel, or accompanying someone for medical visits).
For a Multiple Night Stay, the tax is charged per night.
