A stone-built exterior inspired by the European countryside, peeking through a grove of birch trees. Open the front door, and you'll find a spacious dining hall with a high ceiling. Sunlight streaming through the windows, walls made of plaster and diatomaceous earth, and interiors finished with solid wood warmly embrace every visitor. Kussharera has only three Rooms. The bath is available for private use, and the dining area is spacious, allowing you to enjoy a quiet stay without worrying too much about other guests. We, a husband-and-wife team, warmly welcome each group of guests, hoping that your time at Kussharera becomes a wonderful memory of your trip. Forget the busyness of daily life and spend a relaxing time at your own pace, letting your heart be soothed.

At Kussharera, we serve creative French cuisine that allows you to savor the excellence of these ingredients. Additionally, we offer homemade bread made from Hokkaido-grown wheat and rye, fermented over a long period using homemade yeast derived from grapes. Our bread has become so popular that some customers return just for it. Enjoy Kussharera's pride—bread that reveals the sweetness and richness of wheat with every bite.

The Onsen at Kussharera offers 100% natural hot spring water, both in the open-air baths and indoor baths, without any heating or added water. The colorless and transparent water, rich in metasilicic acid, feels silky and smooth on the skin, much like a natural lotion. Many guests have praised it, saying, "My skin feels so smooth," as it leaves your skin moisturized and refreshed. From the open-air bath, you can enjoy the untouched forest scenery, offering breathtaking views of fresh greenery, autumn leaves, or snow depending on the season. Occasionally, you may even spot deer, Hokkaido squirrels, or small birds. Bathing in the Onsen while surrounded by nature is truly an exceptional experience.

Lake Kussharo offers beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons. It is just a one-minute walk from Kussharela to the lake. Enjoy watching the lake bathed in sunset hues or taking a stroll in the morning mist. On clear nights, you can marvel at the star-filled sky, the Milky Way, and even shooting stars.
