Relaxation unique to a Ryokan: Enjoy hot spring hopping and scenic views

15 minutes from Hanamaki Minami IC, one of the properties of Osawa Onsen where you can enjoy a hot spring tour across three accommodations. Sansuikaku offers three types of baths: a large communal bath, a semi-open-air bath, and private family baths, from which you can enjoy views of the Toyosawa River and the opposite scenery. Enjoy unique Ryokan features such as a free coffee corner to relax in yukata and a convenient late-night snack area. The baths at nearby Tojiya and Kikusuitei (closed in winter) are also worth experiencing. Please enjoy them together.

  • I’m always very satisfied whenever I visit. The staff are well trained, and I was truly impressed. On the morning of departure, as I left the Onsen grounds and entered the public road, a female staff member who had just arrived for work greeted me properly as we passed each other, which made me feel great on my way home. The meals were delicious as well, but I’m sorry to say I couldn’t finish everything and ended up leaving some. One disappointing point—this is an issue of guest manners—is that some guests enter the Onsen without washing first. For the sake of this wonderful Onsen, I hope there may be another way to encourage proper etiquette. (This applies to all Onsens across The whole country.) I would definitely like to stay again.

  • This was my first visit, and I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights.I came for the Onsen water quality, but everything—cuisine, service, Room comfort, and the overall atmosphere—was impeccably cared for and truly wonderful. Dinner in particular featured plenty of seafood; it was thoughtfully crafted without being overly showy, and every dish was delicious and enjoyable. The baths were spacious as well, and I could relax and fully enjoy them. In late March, windows had been installed at Toyosawa-no-Yu, but the pleasant breeze that still drifted in was soothing—it became my favorite.I also toured the building of the therapeutic bathing wing; while old, it is well maintained. The charm worth preserving remains intact, while the “soft” aspects have been properly modernized—a great balance. Even though there were guests on both sides of my Room, once inside I couldn’t hear even footsteps in the hallway—almost complete silence and stress-free. While reading with a coffee in the lobby, I could hear the sound of the stream; it felt comfortable no matter where I was. Next time I plan to choose a Room on the stream side. You can also sense that all staff are working toward the same goal. Honestly impressive is their training ability—bringing even international staff up to that level. My facial skin wasn’t in great condition and toner stung when applied, but when I tried an Osawa Onsen Water Cream purchased at the shop, it didn’t sting at all and moisturized perfectly—an instant new favorite.Everything from start to finish was excellent, and I’d love to return in another season.
