Established in 1856 during the Ansei era, "Fukumotokan" is a charming and historic Ryokan nestled in the tranquil foothills of the mountains. The "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty Hot Spring), known for its strong alkalinity and smooth texture, is especially popular among women. We offer seasonal dishes made with ingredients from the satoyama, accompanied by warm hospitality. The detached building where the writer Takiji Kobayashi stayed and wrote his novels is now a space open for visitors to freely explore. It features displays of traditional items such as hand warmers, foot warmers, tea cabinets, and padded kimono coats. Experience the warmth of wood, the retro charm, and the history carefully preserved to this day, all unique to Fukumotokan.
