Yunokura Tsuruy

Our establishment was founded as Yubara Sake Brewery in Taisho 4 (1915) and operated as a sake brewery in Yubara Onsen for about 50 years until Showa 36 (1961). The representative brand at that time was this "Hamano Tsuru." The well in the courtyard has been continuously flowing since the days of the sake brewery. During its founding, the pure water descending from Amagoi Mountain was essential for sake brewing. Using this water, we dedicated ourselves to sake production in the snowy climate. Later, in Showa 36 (1961), we took the character "Tsuru" from "Hamano Tsuru" and began operating as a Ryokan under the name "Tsuruya Hotel."

Next to the café lounge, in the center of the building, there is a courtyard where you can take a stroll. At night, it is illuminated, and you can sit on a bench and have a conversation. In the pond, there are koi fish swimming, including young koi born in this pond. Not for farming purposes, it is rare for released koi to reproduce naturally; perhaps being near these koi who succeeded in their challenging love might also influence human love?

Relax while enjoying the view of the courtyard. After arrival or before departure, you can unwind at the café lounge overlooking the courtyard. For those who have enjoyed the Onsen, we offer post-bath tea service in the lounge. Please inform our staff, and we will prepare it for you (until 18:00).
