Open-air baths with views of the lush greenery of Lake Kawaguchi and seasonal kaiseki cuisine to savor.

A property overlooking the lush Lake Kawaguchi. Renovated and reopened in 2017, it offers a variety of baths, including spacious indoor baths, open-air baths, and wine baths using Yamanashi's specialty wine. After bathing, enjoy complimentary Yamanashi specialty grape juice and barley tea in the relaxation area. Seasonal kaiseki cuisine features vegetables and meat from Yamanashi and fresh seafood from Shizuoka Prefecture. Separate indoor and outdoor baths for men and women, as well as a sauna, are available.

  • We made a reservation to visit on our wedding registration day as a special memory. As mentioned in other reviews, while the accommodation is older in terms of facilities, the excellent service more than makes up for it. Since my partner preferred a Japanese-style room, we booked one. The room was old-fashioned, and at first, I wondered if it was a mistake. However, with the lake right in front of us and being on the second floor, the view was incredibly soothing. Although our room was directly in front of the elevator and next to what seemed like a family’s room, once inside, it was surprisingly quiet with no outside noise at all. The calm atmosphere with fewer foreign tourists also added to its charm. The most impressive part of our stay was dinner. We had reserved the most affordable kaiseki course meal; however, every dish reflected seasonal flavors and was meticulously prepared—it tasted absolutely delicious! By the end of dinner, there were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all! Even men with larger appetites would be fully satisfied here. Breakfast was buffet-style but equally delicious—we ended up eating until we were completely full! The large public bath area was very clean and well-maintained; I especially loved the wine bath—it was amazing! Perhaps by chance or good timing, there weren’t many people around when we visited so we could enjoy relaxing in the onsen without any interruptions. There were even table tennis facilities available—playing "onsen table tennis" with my husband became another wonderful memory from this trip.If I had to point out areas for improvement: there were small traces of mold around our room’s sink area as well as on the ceiling of one private bath which caught my attention.Overall though—this stay exceeded expectations! We’d love to return someday for another visit!

  • We stayed with our 1-year-old son and had a wonderful experience. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. The room was spacious, extremely clean, and offered a stunning view of Lake Kawaguchi from the window, making for an elegant atmosphere. For dinner, we enjoyed a traditional Japanese kaiseki meal. Each dish was incredibly delicious, with perfect portions that left us completely satisfied! The staff also provided thoughtful care for our son, which warmed our hearts. The Onsen featured a wine bath with a delightful aroma—it was absolutely amazing! After the Onsen, we enjoyed some grape juice that was incredibly tasty as well. Breakfast was served buffet-style with an abundant variety of dishes that were both delicious and fun to try! We were especially happy to taste the local specialty "Hoto" noodles. There were also amenities like children's yukatas and a kids' play area, making it truly family-friendly and accommodating in every way.Although clouds obscured Mount Fuji during our stay, we look forward to coming back here again for another chance to see it clearly!

Ashiwada Hotel was featured on TV!

Ashiwada Hotel was featured on TV on April 16, 2026!
During the broadcast, we introduced our carefully curated seasonal cuisine
and our guest rooms, newly renovated in March 2026.

Lake Kawaguchi is often seen as bustling with inbound tourists,
but our Hotel is located a little away from Kawaguchiko Station
on a quiet lakeside, so you can relax and enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Kawaguchi from your room.

During cherry blossom season, you can take in a panoramic view from our garden,
where the contrast between the blossoms and Lake Kawaguchi is simply stunning!

We warmly invite you to take this opportunity
to unwind and enjoy a soothing getaway at Ashiwada Hotel.
