  • While searching for a Hotel to travel from Sendai to Kesennuma, I learned that there was a Shuttle Service from Sendai and requested it. It was very helpful. The Facility and the staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay.

  • My son lives in Kesennuma, and I was visiting him, but he told me he had to leave early for work tomorrow, so I made a last-minute Reservation. I have stayed at Kanyo in Minamisanriku before, so I was looking forward to the views from the Room and the Onsen, and I had also wanted to stay at Kanyo in Kesennuma. My son said it wasn’t as good as Minamisanriku because you can’t see the ocean from the open-air bath, but I really enjoyed it—the ocean, Oshima Island, the bridge, and fishing boats were all visible from my Room. In the morning, I could also see people working at the port, which gave it a different kind of charm from Minamisanriku. You can’t see the view from the open-air bath in the Onsen either, but it was visible from the indoor bath and that was great.I had breakfast as well—clam chowder, mekabu seaweed curry, sashimi, miso-baked cod in foil, and more—all delicious. I was especially happy that salads and various side dishes were served neatly in small bowls; instead of feeling like typical buffet “feed,” everything felt like proper home-style side dishes.Even without my son staying with me next time, I would love to stay here again.Thank you very much.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Onsen

Experience the premier floating bath at Sanriku Coast, "Kesennuma Onsen"

"Kesennuma Onsen" is a high-concentration chloride spring, so the water is salty like seawater. Since the body can float like in the sea while bathing, it is also called "Puka Puka Onsen." By resting your head on the edge of the bathtub and lying on your back, you can also experience a floating bath. Please enjoy.
