Ryusendo Onsen Hotel
Iwate Prefecture/Shimohei[10-minute walk from Ryusendo Cave] Immerse yourself in the cave's water, savor it, and sleep—the only accommodation connected to Ryusendo Cave.
[Complete Your Ryusendo Trip at This Accommodation] The Onsen uses pure water from an underground lake, and the private bath features a “charcoal bath” made with 480 kg of Iwaizumi’s specialty binchotan charcoal. Meals showcase seasonal delights such as matsutake mushrooms and Iwate wagyu, served with rice cooked in Ryusendo water. Amenities include a skincare line created from Ryusendo mineral natural water. Savor the lingering spirit of Ryusendo as you immerse yourself in its warmth, flavors, and moisture for a truly enveloping experience.
We stayed at this accommodation during our trip to Iwate (Miyako, Iwaizumi, Ryusendo). The room was a bit old but had an air purifier, which was helpful. Dinner was delicious with both meat and sashimi. We were delighted with the matsutake mushroom chawanmushi and kamameshi. The kids' plate for children was luxurious, and they especially enjoyed the crab gratin and rice balls. Breakfast exceeded our expectations with a wide variety of dishes, including a salad buffet, various types of bread, and Iwaizumi yogurt that we could serve ourselves—very satisfying! It would have been even better if the bath had been an onsen. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Iwate.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 11/9/2025After visiting Ryusendo Cave, we checked in at the lobby at 3:00 PM. The staff kindly explained about the Chamber of Commerce coupons and how to participate in the stamp rally, making us feel refreshed as we entered our room. The Onsen had a perfect temperature that allowed us to relax both body and mind. My wife also enjoyed chatting with another guest and spent about an hour and a half in the Onsen. Dinner was served on a spacious table with attentive service, featuring seasonal dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also tried Ryusendo beer and local wine, which had unique flavors, leaving both my wife and me completely satisfied. Breakfast included Iwaizumi yogurt (both sweetened and plain varieties), offering excellent quality and quantity that exceeded our expectations. Thank you to all the Hotel staff for providing such an enjoyable experience!
