Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, the hometown of Manyou, is a castle town with over 400 years of tradition, established by Maeda Toshinaga. Our Ryokan has been operating in Takaoka for generations, approaching its 90th year. Located near the Great Buddha of Takaoka, we have long provided a tranquil space for merchants. We hope to assist in creating memorable travel experiences with heartfelt hospitality, cherishing each encounter.
The Takaoka Great Buddha, a cultural property designated by Takaoka City, is counted among Japan's three great Buddhas alongside Nara and Kamakura. With a total height of 15.85m and a weight of 65 tons, it is a symbol of Takaoka and is beloved. Additionally, in Takaoka, you can enjoy various historical facilities such as Kanayamachi, the first area in the whole country to be selected as a preservation district for traditional buildings with its carefully preserved lattice-windowed houses, and Zuiryuji Temple, the only National Treasure designated in Toyama Prefecture.
