The Japanese-style rooms feature modern designs, including twin rooms with beds suitable for elderly guests. The Onsen, sourced from 500m underground, is renowned as a beauty-enhancing hot spring, complemented by open-air baths for relaxation amidst nature. Additionally, enjoy a seasonal countryside kaiseki meal featuring ingredients from Iwate Prefecture, such as locally sourced vegetables and rice, handmade soba, and the nationally renowned Maesawa beef.
I stayed for two nights. The women-only Onsen on the second floor is spacious and easy to use even for guests with knee problems, so I was able to relax, soak many times, and warm up. Dinner offered a wide variety of delicious dishes—especially the rice-fed pork hot pot, tempura, and soba were outstanding. For breakfast, they prepared different side dishes for each of the two days, which I really appreciated. I will definitely come again!

The vegetables from the home garden were especially tasty, and there was a wide variety of dishes, though I felt breakfast could have been a bit more filling. The Onsen was also great. There was a massage chair in the Room as well. It’s a peaceful place where we could truly relax. Thank you for letting us stay at such a reasonable price.

A seasonal dish meticulously prepared by the chef, combining freshly harvested homegrown vegetables, soba, and the rich ingredients of Iwate.
Indulge in the luxurious flow of rich, natural hot spring water. The soft, soothing waters act as a natural lotion, leaving your entire body smooth and radiant.
We strive to provide warm hospitality that cherishes traditional Japanese events such as the Little New Year, Doll Festival, and Moon Viewing.
We sincerely wish for everyone, including those who use wheelchairs or require assistance, to relax and enjoy their time with ease. This is the heartfelt desire of "Shizuka-tei." The facility is designed to be barrier-free with no steps. There is access to an elevator just before the large curtain leading to the bath area. The elevator connecting the lobby and the first-floor area with natural flowing Onsen, as well as the second-floor area with relaxing Rooms, is prioritized for wheelchair users and those with mobility challenges.
The signboard of Shizuka-tei reads "Handmade Soba." We knead locally sourced buckwheat flour with spring water and serve it freshly made and boiled. Additionally, we grow buckwheat in our own garden, not only for "Handmade Soba" but also to prepare young sprouts as a side dish or to enjoy the beautiful flowers. Experience the charm of soba, a single grain that brings countless benefits.
