Additionally, at Tendo Onsen, the only open-air bath without a roof allows you to savor the charm of each season. The large bath 'Sato no Yu' is gentle on the skin and popular as a warming bath. Professional massage services are also available.
The Onsen temperature was perfect, and I could have stayed in forever. There was also a sauna, and I was impressed that even the open-air bath had a washing area. The Yakult and apple juice after the bath were delicious, and I could relax with manga in a cozy Room that felt like having a kotatsu at home. The breakfast and dinner were served in private rooms on traditional set trays, which felt wonderfully nostalgic! I was extremely satisfied.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 3/30/2026We stayed in a Room with a private Onsen bath at Koin, with breakfast only.The parking lot is right next door and has a large area.Everyone at the Ryokan provided excellent hospitality, and we had a pleasant time.The Room was spacious and clean, though I wouldn’t call it the newest.One thing to note is that you need to fill the in-room bath yourself, so it took some time before we could get in.The large public bath and open-air bath were also very relaxing, and there were other facilities such as a rest area and a “cat zone” (a space decorated with cat-themed amenities—there don’t seem to be any real cats), which we enjoyed.

We have operated the Ryokan while cherishing the beauty of the seasons and the ambiance through generations. A Japanese garden inherited from the first generation and various uniquely styled guest rooms facing the garden. Local cuisine incorporating Yamagata's seasonal flavors, such as mountain vegetables in spring and mushrooms in autumn. "Guests are treated as family for one night's stay and one meal." With this philosophy, we strive to provide hospitality that remains in the heart forever.
