A secluded accommodation surrounded by the pristine landscapes of Kiso, Komano-yu offers travelers the warmth of stunning seasonal scenery and starry night skies. With over a century of history, this accommodation nestles in the embrace of the Kiso Mountains, allowing guests to enjoy fresh greenery, autumn foliage, and snowy winter views. The on-site iron-rich hot spring is renowned for "warming you from within" and is said to be effective for various ailments and conditions. Spacious rooms with wooden warmth provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains throughout all seasons. Meals made with local ingredients offer a comforting and gentle taste that warms the heart.

  • We stayed here for a ski trip. The service from all the staff was excellent. The meals used local ingredients, and with helpful explanations, everything was delicious. We were able to relax in the large public bath and the open-air bath, but when opening and closing the door, it seemed like the ventilation was strong—there was a whistling sound and the door felt a bit hard to move.It was disappointing that we couldn’t see the starry sky due to bad weather, but we hope to enjoy it next time.

  • A quiet Onsen accommodation nestled in nature, located just off Route 19 at the foot of Mount Komagatake. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. With a history dating back to the Meiji era, we enjoyed the private onsen with natural hot spring water, as well as the indoor onsen and herbal open-air bath at our leisure. For dinner, we savored delicious local Kiso cuisine served in charming dishes, paired with a sake tasting set featuring local Japanese sake. Unfortunately, due to bad weather this time, we couldn't see Mount Ontake from our room or participate in the stargazing event. However, it was an accommodation we'd love to visit again! We look forward to coming back on a sunny day!
