Canal City Hakata
Canal City Hakata is a multi-purpose Facility spanning approximately 43,500 square meters, featuring a shopping mall, cinema, theater, and amusement facilities. A canal (Canal) about 180 meters long flows through the center of the city, lined with curvaceous and colorful buildings, and a dynamic fountain show marks the passage of time. On the waterfront stage, daily events and live music performances by entertainers are held, creating a lively atmosphere where everyone can enjoy, gather, and relax in this entertainment city.
Kushida Shrine
Kushida Shrine, affectionately known as "Okushida-san," serves as the main guardian of Hakata and is beloved by the community. The Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival, which has continued for over 700 years, was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2016, and many other major annual events are also held. The Kushida Ginkgo tree, a prefecturally designated natural monument said to be over a thousand years old, is also a highlight.
