The open-air bath was a bit dark and felt slightly intimidating. (The environment might be influenced by the presence of bears.) Since it is outdoors, the water temperature could be slightly higher for better comfort.

Many of the stones found on the coast originate from the mountains of Itoigawa, traveling down rivers over many years before reaching the sea. The tributary "Kotakigawa" of "Himekawa," which can be seen from our Japanese-style rooms, contains jadeite stones. These jadeites flow from Kotakigawa to Himekawa and eventually reach the coast after a long journey, just like other stones.
