Natural flowing Onsen, traditional Japanese multi-course meals with local ingredients, and 150 years of history

This is a property located in Bessho Onsen, the oldest onsen area in Shinshu. We offer nine types of guest rooms suitable for solo travelers to groups. The large communal bath and open-air bath, featuring 100% pure onsen water, provide a rejuvenating experience for both body and mind. Additionally, we serve original Japanese kaiseki meals prepared with fresh local ingredients, allowing you to savor the natural beauty of Shinshu. Enjoy a relaxing time in this nature-rich and charming onsen area.

  • It really felt like an Onsen Accommodation. The Facility feels a bit old, but it’s well maintained. Above all, the food was incredibly delicious! The Onsen also seems to be free-flowing from the source. It might be a little small, though. Still, the amazing food more than made up for those minor drawbacks, so I rated my satisfaction 5 stars. I definitely want to stay here again. The approach to Kitamuki Kannon nearby is quite short, but it had a great atmosphere and was lovely.

  • The dinner and breakfast offer a unique charm, different from traditional Onsen Ryokan meals. Each dish is delicious. The breakfast featuring Shinshu salmon Yuuan-yaki and simmered horse meat soba was delightful, along with the hearty miso soup filled with ingredients. The grilled shabu-shabu of Shinshu beef at dinner was tasty, though it could have had a bit more volume. While the building and facilities show some age, the renovated guest rooms were comfortable and pleasant. After staying here for the first time in 8 years, I found that while it retains its signature charm, there’s also a sense of freshness. I look forward to visiting again soon.

The Healing Onsen of the Gods, Bessho Onsen

Bessho Onsen, the oldest hot spring area in Nagano Prefecture. Known as the "Kamakura of Shinshu" for centuries, this area is rich in nature and dotted with numerous temples and shrines, exuding a nostalgic charm. The hot spring water flowing from beneath the North-facing Kannon is of high quality, offering benefits simply by soaking. Our inn is located in the heart of this hot spring town and welcomes "solo travelers" who wish to spend their time freely. We warmly invite not only families and groups but also solo travelers to visit us.

The hometown associated with the Sanada family

The hometown associated with the Sanada family

Shinshu Ueda is a place associated with Sanada Yukimura, known as "Japan's Greatest Warrior." It was also the setting for the 2016 Taiga drama "Sanada Maru." Additionally, the historic Bessho Onsen is said to be the secret bath of the Sanada clan. Immerse yourself in the Bessho waters loved by Yukimura and reflect on the romance of the Sengoku era. In March 2016, the concept Room "Sanada Sengoku Room" exclusively for solo travelers was introduced.
