Tensodo Cave is a renowned landmark in Dogashima, formed over many years as waves eroded the soft tuff rock into a cave. The center of the cave opens like a skylight, allowing sunlight to shine onto the sea surface, creating a mystical emerald green glow. In 1935, it was visited by the famous poets Tekkan and Akiko Yosano, who immortalized it in their tanka poetry. Today, it is designated as a National Scenic Beauty of Japan.
