The property at Oyu Onsen, with a history of 1300 years since its opening, boasts a large rock bath with water flowing directly from the source. There is also an open-air bath where you can feel the four seasons of Uonuma. From the main building and riverside, you can view Echigo Komagatake, one of the Echigo Sanzan mountains, and the clear stream of the Sarugawa River. Alcohol and soft drinks are all-you-can-drink during dinner. Additionally, there are private karaoke rooms and indoor recreational facilities such as table tennis, which are available for free.
I stayed in an out-of-bath Room for one person. The Room was a bit old (no offense), but it was more than sufficient for an Onsen stay. This was my first time using this Hotel group, so I knew about the buffet, but I’m not sure whether there were any other local specialties. However, I couldn’t really tell which dishes used local ingredients (maybe I just didn’t notice; I only noticed the rice and local sake), which was a bit disappointing. Still, since it was an all-inclusive plan unique to this Hotel group, I was completely satisfied with no issues at all. Overall, for an Onsen stay, it offered excellent value for money and I was very satisfied.
