In the panoramic living room sits a piano of the same Steinway model on which John Lennon composed “Imagine,” with gentle winter sunlight warming the interior and deep summer greenery casting cool shade throughout. Beyond the large windows that continue uninterrupted all the way to the bedroom lies only silence and untouched forest. Within this one-of-a-kind architectural beauty that reveals new expressions as time passes, leave everyday life behind and savor the luxury of fully immersing yourself in a sharpened sense of time.
We stayed here the day after visiting our sister Accommodation, Wa no Ie, also operated in Karuizawa.We were already extremely satisfied with Wa no Ie, but this Ro no Ie impressed us even more.At first I wondered what a donut-shaped building would be like, but despite its unusual appearance, it was very comfortable to stay in.Wherever you are inside, it feels like a secret hideout, and combined with the surrounding nature, it was truly an extraordinary experience.This time we came as a couple and didn’t bring our child, but I’m sure kids would absolutely love it. Next time we’ll come together.By the way, there is a piano here as well. It seems to be a very good one, and my wife was thrilled and played it enthusiastically.If you’re staying as a couple, I highly recommend that the men practice beforehand—playing it really sets the mood.
江戸っ子昆布 3/9/2026This is a place I’d especially recommend to anyone who feels that ordinary stays are no longer enough. Rather than simply “staying overnight,” this Accommodation lets you experience the building itself.The guest room has a layout that allows you to walk all the way around, making it truly unique. There’s no inconvenience, and the floor-to-ceiling glass windows let you enjoy scenery that changes with time.Just being in the space feels fulfilling—you don’t need to force yourself to do anything. It makes you realize how luxurious it can be to spend time doing nothing.This is not an extension of everyday life, but a place you’d choose when you want to Clear your mind. The more Accommodations you’ve stayed at, the more this will feel like a refreshing stay with a different kind of spice from the usual.The meals were also highly satisfying—generous portions with carefully crafted flavors. The pizza and tiramisu dessert were especially memorable.Since the food is catered from a popular restaurant, one of the highlights is being able to enjoy flavors from a place that’s usually hard to get a Reservation for—right in this setting. It was also great that we could complete everything without going out, enjoying meals without breaking the atmosphere of our stay.
