Limited to 3 groups per day. Stay in a traditional house over 130 years old in Kosa Town, Kumamoto.
NIPPONIA Kosa Suisui no Sato is a renovated Facility that breathes new life into a 130-year-old traditional Japanese house, which once served as a pawnshop and later as a tobacco shop. The property features two buildings with three rooms: the main house, characterized by its engawa (veranda) overlooking the waterway, and a detached building offering views of a courtyard garden that flourishes with seasonal plants.
Each room is an independent space, preserving the traces of its history as a pawnshop through its original doors and walls. Step outside the Facility, and you'll be greeted by the nostalgic streetscape of an old-fashioned shopping district. As you stroll through the streets, you might even find yourself in friendly conversation with shop owners along the way. This town flows with a relaxed rhythm, where families and friends gather and share laughter.
Enjoy a stay that feels like becoming a temporary resident in Kosa Town, a quaint countryside area just a short drive from Kumamoto City, where time moves at a gentle pace.
