OWNER'S PROFILE
After studying film production in France, the founder returned to Japan and established a film production and distribution company. Specializing in independent films from Europe and North America, they built a solid reputation in the international film industry. For over 20 years, they have been actively involved in the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, inspired by life with a rescue dog, they faced challenges related to canine behavioral issues and realized that superficial knowledge alone was insufficient for solutions. After attending courses by a world-renowned dog trainer in the U.S., they studied animal behavior from its foundations and obtained an official dog trainer certification. They further pursued studies on canine welfare and behavior analysis in the UK and Denmark, continuously exploring ways to foster better relationships between dogs and humans. As a culmination of these experiences, RITA'S RANCH was established in November 2018 on approximately 1,200 tsubo (about 4 acres) of land in South Karuizawa. This comprehensive Facility includes a dog school, dog run, café, and glamping accommodations where guests can enjoy time with their beloved dogs while promoting an enriched lifestyle with pets. The Facility emphasizes respecting dogs' natural behaviors and emotions within nature while creating an environment where both humans and dogs can feel at ease together. The name "RITA" comes from their beloved rescue dog who shared their life for 14 years during their time at the film company. The word "RANCH" reflects their aspiration to create a place where animals and people can live freely like on a ranch.
