Tamatsukuri Onsen Gensen Kakenagashi no Yado Yujin Chiyonoyu
Shimane Prefecture/Tamatsukuri OnsenSoak in the water from the Onsen spring on the premises and enjoy authentic Onsen eggs.
A Ryokan boasting an Onsen sourced directly from its own grounds. Enjoy the renowned hot springs of Tamatsukuri with 100% natural spring water. Some guest rooms were renovated in March 2016. The Japanese modern-style spaces, inspired by the Taisho and early Showa eras, are highly recommended.
The Onsen water truly felt like a skin-beautifying bath. After soaking, my skin was so soft and supple that I didn’t need any lotion. I was very satisfied with this Accommodation offering free-flowing natural hot spring water.
sayoko196302... 3/22/2026Although we checked in a bit late, a staff member was at the entrance to guide us promptly. Regarding meals, we made a special request due to health reasons, and they kindly accommodated us, which was very helpful. The food was also delicious. The building is a historic accommodation, so there were some minor inconveniences, but all the staff members were friendly and welcoming with smiles, allowing us to relax during our stay. The flowing onsen left our skin feeling smooth. The well-maintained courtyard was beautiful with large and impressive koi swimming around—and upon closer look, even turtles! Thank you very much!

Introduction of the Accommodation

Chiyo no Yu has its own Onsen source, with water flowing directly into the bath. There is no heating, circulation, or chemical disinfection. Relax and indulge in the luxurious natural Onsen. Additionally, with a source temperature of approximately 66°C, there is no alteration in properties due to heating. It is truly a 100% natural flowing Onsen.

The spring quality of Chiyo no Yu is an exquisite blend of sulfate spring and chloride spring Onsen. Furthermore, it is mildly alkaline, making it gentle on the skin. Additionally, it contains a high amount of metasilicic acid, which is expected to provide the following skin-beautifying effects. These "skin-beautifying effects" are as follows: - The mildly alkaline, hypotonic spring quality removes old keratin from the skin, leaving it smooth and silky. - The sulfate spring gives the skin firmness and rejuvenates it. - The chloride spring forms a salt membrane on the skin, maintaining moisturizing effects. You can feel your skin smooth and hydrated even hours after bathing. - Metasilicic acid makes the water feel smooth on the skin and promotes skin metabolism. As some of you may know, it is also included in cosmetics and bath additives, and it is expected to help improve the skin's ceramide balance.
