Shunsai no Yado Iwayu
Tottori Prefecture/MisasaA hidden Onsen accommodation with only 9 rooms, where you can enjoy one of the world's finest radium hot springs.
Natural hot spring water and cuisine reflecting the chef's unique style are popular features of this nine-room adult-only Property.
It is said to be the smallest inn in Misasa Onsen, but it was a quaint and calming traditional ryokan. I appreciated that the futons were set up as beds, but since movement is via stairs with some steps here and there, it might be a bit challenging for those older than us. The aging of the facility is undeniable, but it has been renovated, and the cleaning was thorough, allowing for a pleasant stay. There was an accident during the meal, but the food was incredibly delicious. The moon-viewing soup, eel with grated yam, and sashimi particularly suited my taste. Above all, the quality of the hot spring water is something worth noting. I have stayed at most of the inns in Misasa Onsen, but the quality of the water here was so excellent that you can definitely tell the difference even among the same Misasa waters. My wife mentioned that the water in the women's bath was a bit hot, so she didn't soak for long, but even so, she said, "It's different from the Misasa waters I've experienced before."
matujyunn 9/23/2024I had dinner. Each dish was served in a slightly smaller portion, just the right size to fit in the mouth. There were so many dishes that I was completely full. On the ceramic plate, we grilled beef, pork, chicken, and vegetables. We tried various dishes, and each seasoning was very delicious. The salt-grilled sweetfish was tender and very tasty.

Introduction of the Accommodation
"Shunsai no Yado Iwayu" is located almost in the center of the Misasa Onsen town, which retains the remnants of the past. The Property, a rare three-story wooden structure that is said to be over 200 years old (at least built more than 200 years ago), has a presence with a touch of modern essence. In the summer of 2005, it was renamed from "Meisenkaku Iwayu" to "Shunsai no Yado Iwayu." Currently, the number of Rooms has been limited to nine, within a manageable range, making it the smallest Property in Misasa Onsen. Enjoy a relaxing moment in the soft, pure Japanese-style space that evokes the charm of the Taisho era.

"Your exclusive villa" and "Your private garden open-air bath". Ideal for individuals, families, or groups of 2 to 10 people. Perfect for creating memories with three generations of family, mother and daughter, sisters, or friends.

We are dedicated to providing surprises that bring joy and excitement to our guests through captivating presentations and methods.

For those who value authenticity, you can enjoy the benefits of high-purity Onsen in a bath directly connected to a natural hot spring source. Additionally, our women's bath features a structure similar to an underground Ondol, offering significant hormesis effects.
Handmade washi paper lighting is seen throughout, creating a warm and nostalgic Taisho Romantic-style atmosphere.
