Sawara, Chiba—an Edo-era waterside town where tradition still lives. A timeworn kominka has been given new life. In summer 2025, the 150-year-old “Auberge de Manoir Kitei” will be quietly reborn. Inside, the suite “Teiki -Four Season-” offers over 100 m² of refined Japanese-style space. Beyond the large windows lies a 2,640 m² garden unfolding through the seasons: trees veiled in morning mist, mossy stone paths lit by dappled sunlight—moments that let you forget the noise of everyday life and simply rest in stillness. For dinner, enjoy an original Japanese-French course by Executive Chef Daijiro Ezoe, who honed his craft at Michelin three-star restaurants and more. Seafood from Choshi and vegetables grown in Katori—each dish listens to its ingredients and weaves them beyond borders of East and West, with quiet beauty and a touch of playfulness. Accommodation is limited to one party per day, by Reservation only—time set aside just for you. Touch Sawara’s history, stroll the garden, savor the season, and let your mind unwind.
