Introduction of the Accommodation

Experience Japanese hospitality and contemporary art by emerging artists on the world-renowned "Naoshima."
"Naoshima Ryokan Rokasumi" is located in a prime location, just a 5-minute walk from the center of Honmura in Naoshima. It is the island's first authentic Ryokan featuring all-suite rooms with private open-air baths. In Naoshima, a destination attracting art enthusiasts from around the world for events like the "Setouchi Triennale," this modern Japanese Ryokan serves as a hub for Japanese culture and emerging artists. Guests can enjoy cuisine centered on Seto Inland Sea seafood, heartfelt hospitality, and art pieces displayed throughout the property.

A single-story accommodation building with 11 suite rooms. Each room is equipped with a private open-air bath, offering a spacious and relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy a tranquil and relaxing time while listening to the sounds of birds, with the lush garden backed by the hillside as your scenic view.

Setouchi fish is renowned for its exceptional flavor, a fact well-known among Japanese cuisine enthusiasts. Our carefully crafted dishes, inspired by the desire to share this exquisite taste with more people, are sure to captivate not only Japanese guests but also visitors from around the world. Indulge in our unique course menu featuring a delightful combination of kaiseki and sushi, with Setouchi fish as the centerpiece.

Original artworks by emerging Japanese contemporary artists are displayed throughout the facility, with specially commissioned pieces for all 11 guest rooms created by Featured Artists, which change every six months and are available for purchase. The art producer, Shigeo Goto (Professor at Kyoto University of the Arts), aims to establish this space as a hub for Japanese contemporary art.

One of the unique features of our property is the outdoor hearth located at the center of the building. Since ancient times, people have gathered around fire, gazing into its flames to imagine unseen mythical worlds. We aim to create a space where modern travelers who appreciate contemporary art can naturally come together around the fire and engage in conversation, fostering a closer connection between people and art. <Bonfire Hours> Sunset–23:00 * Complimentary tea by the host is available (not held daily). * Bar menu orders are accepted from 21:00–23:00.
