A soothing moment to breathe with nature in a relaxing retreat perched on a hill at the mouth of the Shimanto River.
The eternal flow, the beautiful great river, Shimanto River. Nestled on the gentle hills near its estuary is the 30-Room "Shimanto no Yado." This resort-type Hotel is designed with the concept of coexisting with the ecosystem and breathing together with nature. Inspired by the wisdom of Japanese people who have long cherished and lived in harmony with nature, natural materials such as wood, stone, and plaster are used. Tranquil Japanese-style Rooms and elegant, simple Western-style Rooms. Each Room offers a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a soothing journey.
I stayed here during my Shikoku pilgrimage.Meals are available at the on-site restaurant. It’s not a luxurious Onsen Ryokan, but the portions were just right and everything was tasty. The Onsen water was great, but it can get quite crowded since it’s also open to non-staying guests. The lockers are small as well, which makes it feel cramped. My Room had a Goemon-style bath, but it was too cold to use. It’s best to make your Reservation with the season in mind.
ブルベリー 3/31/2026It was a wonderful accommodation. The meals were delicious, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We booked an anniversary plan, and after dinner, we received a fruit platter as a gift. It became a memorable Shikoku trip for our 30th wedding anniversary. All the staff were kind and lovely. Thank you so much! We would love to stay here again.
