The Westin Rusutsu Resort is located 75 km southwest of Sapporo, nestled in a highland surrounded by the majestic nature of Shikotsu-Toya National Park, offering breathtaking seasonal landscapes. In winter, it boasts a ski area awarded Japan's Best Ski Resort at the 2018 World Ski Awards. In summer, guests can enjoy an amusement park ranked 5th in Japan's amusement park category by TripAdvisor, along with golf and various other activities.

  • This is a great place.

    All rooms are luxurious suite-type maisonettes. However, it is slightly inconvenient as there is no toilet on the second floor where the master bedroom is located. Dinner was a buffet, featuring seafood and roast beef, which was highly satisfying. As usual, it was noticeable that some guests from the mainland took large portions but left much of it uneaten.

  • Three-generation trip

    Since my nephew came to visit from Tokyo, we chose the Westin where everyone could stay together. As it was a maisonette, we were able to separate the rooms and had a comfortable stay. The staff's warm hospitality was particularly commendable. Although there were moments when the nuances didn't quite get across with the non-Japanese staff, they were friendly, and the children seemed to enjoy themselves, so we were satisfied.

    Starting from stays on or after April 1, 2026, the Hokkaido Accommodation Tax and Rusutsu Village Accommodation Tax will be implemented for all guests.
    An additional fee per person per night will be charged based on the accommodation fee as follows:
    Less than ¥20,000: ¥200
    ¥20,000 to less than ¥50,000: ¥400
    ¥50,000 or more: ¥1,000
