A village-style Hotel facing Kumihama Bay in northern Kyoto
HOTEL HOLIDAY HOME is located in Kumihama, at the western base of the Tango Peninsula. While there are no famous tourist spots nearby, it is surrounded by the sea and mountains, offering a stunning natural landscape.
This time was a Multiple Night Stay.No matter how many times I visit, it truly makes me happy.A clean, beautiful bed with crisp white linens.Comfortable pajamas and fragrant, high-quality soaps. The room is genuinely relaxing, with simple, tasteful furniture and products—never over-decorated.I was thrilled to make it in time for oysters. On the second day, I also challenged myself to ride an e-bike all the way around Kumihama Bay. This e-bike is highly recommended for the pleasant seasons ahead. Even if you don’t go all the way around the bay, just riding to Shotenkyo is more than enough to be moved. Gazing at the surface of Kumihama Bay and listening to the flutter of waterbirds’ wings, a quiet sense of happiness slowly welled up inside me.

Migratory birds arrive at Kumihama Bay during this season, and the autumn leaves at Nyoiji Temple were stunningly beautiful. Perhaps next time will be during the snowy season. As I leave this place, I always find myself wondering when I’ll return again—when will I have the chance to come back?

The Hotel is located within Kabuto Mountain Park, adjacent to Kumihama Bay. With your back to Kabuto Mountain and a view of Kumihama Bay, you can see the mountains stretching westward and small fishing boats crossing the bay in the distance. Two-story detached house with a wood-burning stove in a maisonette style. The bedroom on the second floor offers a panoramic view of Kumihama Bay. There is also a deck where you can relax and enjoy the sunset.
Kyotango City is blessed with both seafood and mountain delicacies. We offer simple dishes made with fresh seafood from nearby waters and locally grown vegetables. Enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace in a serene atmosphere, surrounded by the Suwa Teppei stone roof and floor, as well as the forest view outside the windows.
A POP-UP for “Forest Herbal Shop iroca” is now being held at the shop inside the Facility until Wed, 5/6.
We offer herbal teas selected by a phytotherapist and essential oils.
Workshops are also available, where you can create your own original herbal tea or bath herbs.

From there, take Prefectural Route 727, National Route 426, and National Route 312 via Toyooka, then National Route 178 to Kumihama.
Approximately 40 minutes from Toyooka Izushi IC.
■ From Kyoto: Via Kyoto Jukan Expressway to the end at San'in Kinki Expressway "Kyotango Omiya IC".
Then take National Route 312 via Mineyama and National Route 178 to Kumihama.
About 2 hours and 30 minutes from Kyoto city center.
