All rooms feature an open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water, allowing you to experience the tranquility of the mountains at a Property nestled in a quiet forest.

Yunomori is a small Ryokan nestled in a forest surrounded by bear bamboo and coniferous trees. We ensure comfort and attentiveness so you can visit repeatedly, cherishing relaxing moments with people and nature.

  • This was our second stay, drawn back by the snowy scenery and milky Onsen. Our expectations were fully met, and we were able to enjoy both the snow and the hot springs. We were also happy to taste seasonal dishes ahead of time, such as bamboo shoots and butterbur. The shabu-shabu with beef, seri (Japanese parsley), and yuba was delicious as well. There was an unexpected boiler malfunction the next morning, but we were able to use the Onsen at a sister Ryokan. The water there was surprisingly rich and deeply cloudy. For an Onsen-loving couple like us, it felt like good luck—and for about two days after returning home, we could still smell sulfur on our bodies (laugh). We are considering staying again.

  • We traveled by private car. It was late March, and we were worried about snow accumulation and icy roads, so we called several times to ask about the conditions in the area. Each time, they responded kindly and thoroughly. Although Lake Chuzenji and Yumoto may look close on a map, the weather can feel quite different between them. In the end, we were able to make it with regular tires, but it seems there is usually still plenty of snow around this time—perhaps due to global warming. This was our second stay at Yunomori. It has become one of my most relaxing places. My spouse and I really love the meals, the Onsen, and the overall atmosphere of the Accommodation. The staff also interact with guests at just the right distance, which makes us feel very comfortable. We would love to visit again in a different season.
