A Japanese-style Hotel offering natural Onsen, the only one near Kyoto Station, with heartfelt hospitality.

The gateway to the ancient capital, Hatoya Zuihoukaku, beloved for over 60 years in front of Kyoto Station, was reborn in May 2014 as the Japanese-style Hotel "Kyoto Yumoto Hatoya Zuihoukaku" featuring a natural Onsen large bath.

  • Recently, more Hotels in central Kyoto have been offering large public baths, but the Onsen here was in a class of its own. Being able to soak in a high-quality Onsen and relax right by Kyoto Station was truly appreciated—I felt lighter afterward. If possible, I would love it if the morning hours could start one hour earlier, at 5:30, so guests can enjoy a morning bath before heading out.

  • I stayed here to do some sightseeing in Kyoto the day after watching the Koshien games and the Osaka Grand Sumo Tournament. I was drawn to the Onsen and had made a Reservation last year, looking forward to it ever since. As expected, both the Room (great view, just as requested!) and the baths were very comfortable. Breakfast was a lineup that truly felt “so Kyoto.” Everything was delicious, but I was especially impressed by the yudofu (tofu hot pot). I also bought the Hotel’s original plum-flavored pickles as a souvenir. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Front desk

The spirit of harmony, the charm of Kyoto, reborn as a Hotel suitable for the times.

Since its establishment in 1950 (Showa 25) in front of the station of the ancient capital Kyoto, we have welcomed many guests from The whole country as a base for Kyoto tourism. During this time, we sincerely thank everyone who has supported us over the years. In May 2014, based on the traditions cultivated by Hayato Zuifukaku, we were reborn as a "Wa" Hotel suitable for the new era. We kindly ask for your continued support as always.

Commitment to "Hachi" at Kyoto Hatoya Zuihoukaku.

"Eight" has long been considered a lucky number, and in Feng Shui, the octagon is said to hold special power. The building is octagonal, eight stories high, and features the Hatoya Eight Views, symbolizing our wish for happiness and good fortune for our guests. ※ Hatoya Eight Views: Eight spots within the property where the changes of the seasons and the passage of time can be felt.
