A comprehensive resort for relaxation and cuisine - Aqua Ignis - has been established in Komono Town, Mie Prefecture. Enjoy the natural Onsen "Kataoka Onsen" with 100% source water and the cuisine of Hiroaki Tsujiguchi and Masayuki Okuda.
The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, allowing me to relax in the private open-air bath. Since it is a proper Onsen, I plan to try the large public bath next time. The ceiling in the bedroom felt slightly low, which gave a bit of a cramped feeling.
みき999 10/1/2025It had been a while since I last visited Aqua Ignis, which I used when it first opened. The hot spring water was as gentle as ever, and the meals, cakes, and bread were all very delicious. I stayed in the Organic Hanare. The organic loungewear was very light and comfortable to wear. Birds came to visit the garden, creating a relaxing atmosphere that didn’t feel like being in a Hotel. Since I have difficulty walking, the design of the open-air bath in the Room was too stylish for both my grandchild and me to use easily (a handrail or steps would be helpful...). It’s convenient that you can drive directly up to your Room by car. Check-in and check-out were done in the Room without needing to move around, which was very helpful; however, more detailed instructions (or written guides) on operating things like the projector would have been appreciated. Apologies for not being tech-savvy!

The first pastry chef to win on "Iron Chef." Represented Japan in five world competitions, achieving numerous victories, and is recognized as one of Japan's leading pastry chefs. As the owner-chef of "Mont St. Clair," he has expanded his presence across Japan. Actively involved in collaborations and productions with companies, giving lectures, appearing on television, and publishing books. Deeply interested in food education and general education, he established the Super Sweets Confectionery School in Ishikawa Prefecture in April 2012. He is dedicated to the further development and enhancement of food culture.
The Italian restaurant "Al-checciano" in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture, offers dishes that are simple yet maximize the natural flavors of locally sourced ingredients delivered directly from producers. The restaurant has a deep bond and strong trust with its producers, ensuring the finest ingredients are always available. Its innovative cuisine has received high acclaim internationally, even being recognized among the top 1,000 chefs worldwide. In 2009, the Italian restaurant "Yamagata Sandandero," featuring Yamagata's ingredients, opened in Ginza. In 2012, two restaurants were simultaneously opened in the Tokyo Skytree restaurant complex. Aqua Ignis marks its first expansion into western Japan.
Trained at the Japanese restaurant "Shogatsuya Kitcho" for 9 years. After the death of his father, he took over the family yakitori restaurant "Tori Sho" and became renowned for his innovative cuisine. In 2004, he opened the Japanese restaurant "Sanpi Ryoron" in Ebisu. Since then, it has been known as one of the most difficult restaurants for Reservation. In 2009, he produced the Japanese restaurant "TOKYOSAIKABO" in Seoul, South Korea. In 2013, he opened "Sanpi Ryoron Nagoya" in Nagoya City.
The premises feature six themes: Bathing, Staying, Dining, Farming, Celebrating, and Hosting, with various Facilities.
The "Kataoka Onsen" with 100% natural spring water remains the centerpiece of Aqua Ignis.
We offer two types of accommodations: the "Lodging Building" for thoroughly enjoying the onsen and the luxurious "Organic Detached Lodging" with an organic concept.
We place a strong emphasis on our dining Facility. We offer a variety of attractive culinary Facilities, including Chef Tsujiguchi's highly popular sweets shop "Confiture H," authentic stone oven-baked bread "Mariage de Farine," Chef Okuda's Italian restaurants "Sala Bianca Al-Kecchiano" and "Il Kecchiano Miele," Chef Masahiro Kasahara's "Kasan Sanpi-Ryoron," and the counter-style Japanese cuisine "Rohan Onmi." We will continue to enhance our offerings with innovative ideas in the future.
At Aqua Ignis, there are fields for cultivating food ingredients. "TSUJIGUCHI FARM," supervised by Chef Tsujiguchi, offers strawberry picking, and "Hatacchano" provides pesticide-free vegetables.
Restaurant
If you want to enjoy Okuda-style Italian cuisine, this is the place. Maintaining the "local production for local consumption" concept continued by Masayuki Okuda in Shonai, Yamagata Prefecture, dishes are prepared using seasonal vegetables harvested from the adjacent vegetable garden and fresh ingredients from Komono Town, Mie Prefecture.

We offer four separate properties, each with a unique charm. Utilizing naturally dried domestic wood such as "Sugi," "Matsu," "Kuri," and "Hinoki" as the theme for each property, the interiors are meticulously designed by four artists.
