Enjoy a relaxing holiday while admiring the clear streams of the Oguni River in the Mogami region.
Surrounded by the majestic nature of the mountains and nestled along a clear stream, "Yumemino Yado Kansokan" offers a serene retreat. The charm of this beautiful area lies in its seasonal ingredients sourced locally and its rejuvenating Onsen. Enjoy exquisite creative Japanese cuisine crafted with care by our head chef, highlighting the natural flavors of each ingredient, as well as an open-air hot spring bath with free-flowing natural spring water that reflects the changing seasons. With a history dating back to the Edo period, Semionsen—closely associated with Yoshitsune—is renowned for its high-quality Onsen and developed as a healing destination. Kansokan also has ties to Japan's Imperial Family, including Her Imperial Highness Crown Princess Masako. Whether visiting with family, friends, or loved ones—children are warmly welcomed too—immerse yourself in Japan's forgotten traditional landscapes and experience the beauty of each season through all your senses.
The feedback I wrote in the questionnaire was addressed the same day. The Onsen was great, the meals were excellent, and the drinks were delicious and reasonably priced—overall, I was very satisfied. I would like to visit again.
ゆらむるち 3/20/2026I chose this accommodation for my trip to Yamagata. Many accommodations seem to close right after New Year's, and even on weekdays, there were no available slots for the exact dates I wanted! After carefully selecting from IKYU.com, I made my choice. After checking in and entering the room, I was delighted from the start with its cozy kotatsu, bed, dining area, and private bath—so much comfort in one place! Dinner was served in the room. The attendant kindly introduced themselves with a business card—Ms. ○○ (name withheld for privacy), a Vietnamese trainee. Despite being a trainee, she was entrusted with room service duties and demonstrated an impressively high level of skill. Her service was smooth and polite; I was very satisfied. The Onsen hotel had a nostalgic atmosphere that reflected its rich history. To Ms. ○○ from Vietnam: wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! Overall satisfaction: five stars!

Introduction of the Accommodation

The charm of Kansokan lies in its highly acclaimed cuisine.
Our cuisine features locally sourced ingredients from Yamagata, allowing guests to experience the essence of the region's four seasons. We carefully select seasonal ingredients categorized as "early season," "peak season," and "late season" to provide a rich culinary experience within each seasonal period. In addition to traditional local dishes, our menu is based on Japanese cuisine while incorporating techniques and flavors from Western and Chinese cuisines for a diverse dining experience. We value the fundamentals of Japanese cooking: "five tastes," "five colors," and "five methods." By blending tradition with creativity under the philosophy of “cherishing the past while embracing innovation,” we strive to craft dishes that bring joy to our guests.

The Onsen large public bath and open-air bath offer water that warms you to the core. The spring quality is gentle on the skin and is said to be effective for seniors and recovery after illness. From beyond the steam, you can hear the soothing murmur of Oguni River... Forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax at your leisure.

Located along the scenic stream of the Oguni River, Semi Onsen is steeped in legend, said to have been discovered by Yoshitsune and his party while fleeing Minamoto no Yoritomo's forces on their way to Hiraizumi. It is believed that Yoshitsune's wife, Gōzen, went into labor during their journey, and Benkei found a hot spring for her first bath. During the Edo period, Semi Onsen flourished as a retreat for the lords of the Tozawa Domain (present-day Shinjō City) and later gained fame as a therapeutic hot spring destination due to its high-quality waters.
