  • We stayed here with my elderly parents, who are currently recuperating.Even before our stay, we had made a few requests regarding the meals, and above all, we are truly grateful for the warm and thoughtful care shown by all the staff after we arrived. They kindly cut the food into small pieces each time and even prepared a serving of rice porridge. Thanks to this attentive consideration, my mother—who had been eating very little—was able to enjoy the meals while repeatedly saying how delicious they were.In the evening private open-air bath, the moonlight reflecting on the vast ocean created an incredibly beautiful, dreamlike view. At sunrise, the boundary between sky and sea seemed to melt together; it was so mysterious that we could hardly tell whether it was dawn or dusk, and we were deeply moved.Although it was a short stay for my parents, they said many times that they were truly glad they came.It is an Accommodation where you feel wrapped in warmth wherever you are; seeing the staff’s smiles and hearing their gentle words warmed our hearts as well. For my recuperating parents—and for our family—it became an unforgettable and precious time.We look forward to returning someday in good health as a family to see this scenery again.Thank you very much.

  • One of my regular Accommodations in Japan, where I have stayed every year during my visits home since 2015 (except during the COVID period). The location, views, cuisine, and the one-of-a-kind hospitality from every staff member make this place truly exceptional. For first-time guests, the setting may feel overwhelming: a “landlocked island” perched on the tip of a sheer cliffside cape with nothing around it. The view is divine beneath the dazzling morning sun; calm and beautiful under clear blue skies; wildly powerful in a storm, as if witnessing the force of the gods; and under a full moon, your heart will be cleansed by the serene moonlit path across the sea. This time again I stayed in my usual Room in the Oroshi Wing (freshly and extensively renovated in summer 2024 and fully equipped with modern amenities). I’ve attached photos of this view that I’ve loved for over 10 years. Enjoying exquisite kaiseki cuisine in such a spectacular setting, soaking in Ryunosu Onsen, and admiring sky and ocean during a three-night stay—there’s no way it wouldn’t leave you feeling blissful.Every dish from the Executive Chef is deeply moving and consistently outstanding. I can’t welcome the New Year without it. Even with a three-night stay each time, every meal is thoughtfully composed differently—each plate filled with sincerity. I cannot thank them enough. The sake selection is also superb: they always manage to offer rare, hard-to-find labels, for which I’m truly grateful to both the restaurant/bar manager and the sommelier team. Another highlight during longer stays is the hand-ground coffee corner near the bar counter. The newly introduced cold-brew maker produces an iced coffee with an impressively clear yet concentrated flavor. Finally, this Accommodation’s hospitality is simply on another level. No matter when I return, it feels like coming home—warm and comforting. From the general manager and executive chef to each department manager, young proprietress-in-training (wakao-kami), front desk team, and everyone else—their smiles and greetings are genuinely uplifting, delivering impeccable service throughout. As always, it was an entirely satisfying three-day stay from start to finish. To everyone at “Oyado The Earth,” thank you very much for creating such a wonderful experience—I look forward to staying again on my next trip back to Japan.
