Amidst the rich nature, the sturdy thatched roof warmly welcomes you. Since the distant Muromachi period, the Onsen for therapeutic purposes has flourished and been cherished for five hundred years, and even today, the onsen village of Shima Tamura continues to be loved. The moment you see the wooden signboard "Onsen Property" hanging at the entrance, a relaxing atmosphere envelops you. Take a moment to immerse yourself in this tranquility and enjoy a leisurely time.
The Onsen and meals were excellent!!When I asked a question at the time of Reservation about my husband’s birthday, you replied promptly by email, called us as well, and were very kind.Our 5-year-old daughter loved the Onsen and was so excited, saying she wanted to go in again.It was also great that the bath in our Room was an Onsen. Thank you very much.

Since my friend loves Onsen, I chose Tamura with its variety of atmospheric large baths as a surprise, and it was the perfect choice. All the baths were wonderful, but our favorite was "Omuso no Yu." It was an amazing experience to soak in such a beautiful bath while reflecting on thoughts. The morning bath at "Mori no Kodama" was also very lovely. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the flavors were just right, highlighting the natural taste of the ingredients—absolutely delicious! The portions were perfect; we felt full but not too heavy, which made it easy to enjoy another bath after dinner. Thanks to this wonderful experience at Tamura, we've already decided on another Onsen trip next month. This year might turn into a year of exploring Onsen destinations! My friend and I agreed that if we stay in Shima Onsen again, it has to be Tamura. We’re already planning our next visit soon.Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Kaiseki originates from the practice of Zen monks placing warm stones in their robes to endure hunger and cold.
We offer Rooms in three Facilities: Suiyokan, Mokuyokan, and Kinyokan. Suiyokan and Mokuyokan feature a serene traditional Japanese ambiance with standard Rooms. Additionally, you can choose a maisonette type with a hinoki bath, including both Japanese-style and Western-style Rooms.
