Izu Atagawa Onsen Hotel Katara Resort & Spa
Shizuoka Prefecture/Izu Atagawa OnsenThe all-weather pool is open year-round, featuring the region's largest kids' corner, a tropical spa, and a resort experience that satisfies both adults and children.
A southern resort about 2.5 hours by expressway from the Tokyo area, and 2 hours and 15 minutes by the limited express "Odoriko." The all-weather onsen pool is very popular and can be enjoyed year-round, ranking 5th in Japan's pool-equipped Stays. You can enjoy it even before and after check-in. Another popular attraction is the Jungle Spa, a lush healing space equipped with several types of baths, slides, and a jacuzzi. Children will be thrilled! The region's largest kids' corner is packed with facilities where you can play all day, including a ball pool, bouldering, building blocks, picture books, stuffed animals, Plarail, and Thomas. The onsen features two open-air baths alternating with Atagawa's hot spring source, and the much-anticipated meals include a buffet with 60 varieties of dishes using plenty of fresh seafood.
We stayed as a family of four. Since we booked our stay mainly to use the spa, pool, and kids’ area, we were very satisfied. We especially made great use of the lounge.Regarding service, we realized at check-in that our Reservation did not include the children, but the staff responded quickly and we were able to stay—truly grateful.
いろちい 2/28/2026The building is old, but it was well maintained. We stayed in a special room with a living room as three families. The grandchildren were thrilled by how spacious it was.It came with a jacuzzi and a sauna. They had a great time eating snacks and ice cream in the lounge and playing in the pool. The sashimi was delicious.
