A property with a stunning view of the Moon Road, located in Hokkawa Onsen, Higashi-Izu.
Bousui is located in Kitagawa Onsen on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula. True to its name, the breathtaking views overlooking Sagami Bay reveal the grandeur of each season and bring a sense of calm to every traveler. About 100 meters from the Facility, right by the shoreline, you will find Kuroneiwa Bath, one of the very few seaside open-air baths in The whole country. The sunrise seen from this open-air bath is truly exceptional. In addition, Bousui offers private gazebos where you can enjoy sweeping ocean views as if they were yours alone—an experience unique to Bousui.
There is far too much to write here, but we were able to fully enjoy so many wonderful aspects of our stay. Although it rained, spending time in the gazebo while listening to the rain on the roof was wonderfully atmospheric. We look forward to the day we can visit this Accommodation again, which shares the charms of Izu and Ryokan culture.
NS0226 4/7/2026It was our first time back at Bousui in a year.We had such a wonderful, happy stay.Thank you very much. The hospitality café in the lobby is available from morning to night, so we were busy (in a good way)—and completely satisfied!!The gazebo and the meals were amazing; once you stay at Bousui, you won’t feel like looking for any other Accommodation! lol

Introduction of the Accommodation

At the “2nd Meigetsu Summit of The whole country,” held at Tokyo Skytree and hosted by the Night View Tourism Convention Bureau and KNT-CT Holdings Co., Ltd., the second round of “Japan’s 100 Best Moons” certified locations was announced, and “Izu Hokkawa Onsen Moon Road” was selected as Certified Location No. 015! “Japan’s 100 Best Moons” is a project launched last year to showcase, both in Japan and abroad, the many beautiful full-moon views found across Japan, and to build a moon-viewing brand that will be passed on to future generations. The first certification round in March 2016 recognized 14 locations. This year, from around 100 nominated sites, a carefully selected total of seven new locations were added—bringing the current total to 21 registered “Japan’s 100 Best Moons” destinations. It is said that if you make a wish while praying to the Moon Road on a moonlit night, your wish will surely come true… Please come and experience this mysterious moment for yourself here in Hokkawa.

Moon Road Suite
Two Suite Rooms, the Moon Road Suite, have been created with this mystical world in mind. Enjoy a sweeping ocean view through expansive windows stretching from ceiling to floor. Both the twin beds for a restful night’s sleep and the relaxing chairs for unwinding are all positioned to face the sea. In the Moon Road Suite, where you can feel the sky and ocean from anywhere in the Room, savor a one-of-a-kind getaway found only here.

On your next holiday, take a trip to soak up the moon’s energy.
Like the sunrise, the moon rises from the horizon. In Kitagawa, you can witness a mystical “moonrise.” For several days around the full moon, on especially radiant nights, moonlight paints a “Moon Road” across the sea surface. No matter where you stand along Kitagawa’s seaside promenade, this mysterious path of light seems to stretch straight toward you. As you quietly watch the shimmering Moon Road, it feels as if you are in conversation with the moon. It is said that if you make a wish while praying to the Moon Road on a moonlit night, your wish will come true… Why not experience this magical moment for yourself at least once? For three days before and after the full moon, our 8th-floor lounge “Nami no Mai” opens as a Full Moon Lounge. On bright moonlit nights, enjoy our “Happy Full Moon” hospitality while gazing at the moon through the windows. Overnight guests may use it free of charge with no Reservation required. *In a popularity vote (“General Election”) held on the official Fujinokuni Angel Power Spot website—featuring many well-known locations across Shizuoka Prefecture—the Moon Road ranked No. 1 in the “Want to Visit” category and No. 4 in the “Glad I Went” category.*

All rooms at Bousui feature ocean views. Enjoy panoramic vistas of Sagami Bay from your window. Relax at your leisure, surrounded by scenery that changes moment by moment with the time of day and the seasons.

Four private gazebos extending out toward the sea. An open, unobstructed space where you can fully enjoy the refreshing breeze and a true sense of freedom.

Slow, unhurried strokes by our therapist… a weightless sensation as if drifting to the moon… Discover a new spa experience that awakens all five senses at Heavenly Spa “GECCA”.

One of the joys of travel is savoring the local cuisine. As you relax to the sound of the waves drifting in through the window, please enjoy flavors you can experience only here.

A full moon rising above the horizon and a moonlit path shimmering across the sea. Mysterious moonlight reaching all the way to your window. Heavenly Spa “GECCA” offers a spiritual, holistic experience inspired by the power of the moon. As you reconnect with nature, it nurtures Body, Mind, and Spirit—helping you restore your natural wellness balance. A special moment for you and the moon. In scenery found only here, enjoy your own inner journey.
