The best hospitality to end your spring break.

We chose this Hotel to create one last memory at the end of our child’s spring break, and it was absolutely the right choice. Above all, the hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Their guest-first attitude came through in every detail, making it one of the most comfortable Hotels we have ever stayed at. Combined with the dignified atmosphere of this historic building, we were able to enjoy a truly luxurious time. Our whole family is very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    Spacious and relaxing

The hospitality toward guests was excellent throughout. It was also nice that the Room lamp color could be changed to a warm yellow tone that enhanced the furnishings.

    A Lovely Classic Hotel

We enjoyed a great value stay thanks to the IKYU Diamond Member benefits. They even prepared sweets for my mother’s birthday and kindly considered the view from our Room, which reminded me what a long-established, gracious Hotel this is. Thank you very much. The old wing’s lobby, staircase, and elevator were truly wonderful. At breakfast, my mother seems to have mistakenly thought she could have Japanese food at Normandy. When she told a staff member, “I’d like Japanese food,” we were told only that there was no Japanese food there. I wish they had also explained that she could have Japanese cuisine at Tankuma on the first floor—then she could have enjoyed it, which was disappointing.

    We had a relaxing stay.

A girls’ trip for three: my mother, my aunt, and me. Since we couldn’t travel far this year, we enjoyed cherry blossom viewing in Kamakura, then visited Chinatown, and decided to relax at this Hotel we had always dreamed of staying at. These days, even Hotels in central Tokyo have fewer porters and less of the classic service than before, but this traditional Hotel has wonderful staff with thoughtful attention to detail, and we were able to spend a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was served in a spacious setting, and we left completely full—both from the food and from the warm hospitality. My mother and aunt were delighted as well. It was a meaningful way to show my appreciation. Thank you very much. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

As expected of a long-established Hotel.

As this is a historic Hotel, both the exterior and interior were wonderful. It wasn’t just old—it was well maintained for its age, so it felt very comfortable. All the Hotel staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I also enjoyed the pudding à la mode, and the delicious Japanese set meal at Tankuma was outstanding.

    A classic, comfortable Hotel

I chose this Hotel because I wanted to stay somewhere with a classic, old-fashioned feel. The view from the Room is wonderful. My Room was on the 3rd floor of the main building, facing Yamashita Park—right in front of Hikawa Maru. Through the small window, you can see Yokohama Port and even Osanbashi Pier. The Room isn’t very large, as you’d expect from an older Hotel, but it’s comfortable and pleasant. If I had to mention something, the shower water pressure was a bit weak and the bathtub felt narrow, but it didn’t bother me—it just felt like part of the charm of a long-established Hotel. It’s also very convenient: close to the station, only about a 5-minute walk to Chinatown, and there are plenty of places nearby for strolling. You can enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere here. The Tower building likely has great views as well, but I recommend the main building if you want that classic experience.

A wonderful, tranquil Hotel where you can experience Yokohama’s history.

The Room was on the 15th floor of the Tower wing, with a wonderful view over Minato Mirai. Right in front was Yamashita Park, where countless flowers were in full bloom. In the lounge on the 16th floor, we enjoyed petite cakes and delicious tea. During cocktail time, we had a lovely time with beer and wine, along with snacks such as cheese and nuts. We also took our time admiring the main building’s staircase—an icon of the Hotel—as well as the sofas and curtains. The elegant space, rich with history, was truly impressive and moving. We missed seeing the courtyard illumination this time, so we’ll look forward to it on our next visit. It was a wonderful Hotel that we would love to stay at again.

Breakfast was perfect. The omelet, as always, was delicious. However, could you add Eggs Benedict as an option for egg dishes? I would be happy to pay an additional fee. Dinner was at Jukeihanten; a few years ago the food (cooking) was terrible, but this time it was good.

Our family of four stayed for two nights, and as requested in advance, we were provided with connecting rooms. The location was very convenient for sightseeing, with Minato Mirai and Chinatown nearby. The service was courteous and gave us a reassuring sense of quality. We were extremely satisfied with the Western-style breakfast—the service, food selection, and view were all excellent—so if you stay here, I think breakfast is a must.

A Hotel I’ve always wanted to stay at The interior feels like a beautiful Western-style mansion—like a scene from a movie. I was completely captivated by the atmosphere. I was moved by the quiet courtyard and its unforgettable illuminations, and by breakfast enjoyed while watching ships at Yamashita Park. I’m truly grateful for the warm hospitality and smiles of the staff. If I could ask for one thing… I would have loved to tour the building and see the ceremony and reception venues. Still… thank you for making me feel so happy.

Third time staying on the Club Floor.

While going through days when I can’t take a proper block of vacation, I found myself looking back on my stay in the main building last summer. Thinking, “Let’s do another staycation,” I made a Reservation for the Club Floor this time. I arrived early and enjoyed a pudding à la mode at The Cafe. Even with 14 parties ahead of me, the wait didn’t feel long. Everyone who assisted me was wonderful. After check-in, I spent time in my Room. Once again, I was happy to be in such a lovely space. When Asuka II departed, its horn sounded, and I enjoyed watching it move away from Osanbashi Pier. When I visited the club lounge, it felt cramped and hard to move around, noisy and not very relaxing. I returned to my Room soon after. For me, the Room was more comfortable than the club lounge. The next morning was my third time at Le Normandie, but this visit didn’t move me as much as the previous two did. The vegetables were still delicious as always. The tasty white bread I had last time wasn’t in the basket this time, so I tried something else instead—it crumbled badly and was difficult to eat. Previously, when Asuka II passed under the Bay Bridge, someone let us know (“Asuka II is…”), but this time I only noticed after Asuka II had already docked at Osanbashi Pier. Even so, I will be back again. Next time, I’d like to try the apple pie as well. Thank you very much for everything.

Moved by the heartfelt service of all the staff.

We stayed at this Hotel with my mother on the first anniversary of my brother’s passing, as it was a place he truly loved. From check-in to check-out, every staff member we met—at the restaurant and shops, through in-room dining, and on the club floor—provided service that was polished yet warmly human, with genuine grace and dignity. As a classical Hotel with a long tradition, its Facility differs from the latest international brands, but this stay reminded me once again that a Hotel’s true heart is its service—the people. I would love to return with my mother and stay in the same Room again.

    Hospitality in the dining hall

A group led by a couple with a toddler shouting loudly entered the breakfast area. Until then, each guest had been quietly enjoying breakfast in their own way. However, the calm atmosphere changed completely when staff allowed in a group that was not appropriate for this dining room. It was disappointing that a staff member did not refuse guests who clearly should have been turned away under the manual.

This is indeed a wonderful Hotel. This was my second stay, and this time I stayed in the main building. The service, atmosphere, and furnishings were excellent, and I had a truly enjoyable time. I would like to stay here again the next time I visit Yokohama. It was a genuinely delightful trip, and I am sincerely grateful.

    The Best Hospitality

I stayed on the 16th floor. From the window, I had a panoramic view of Minato Mirai, the Red Brick Warehouse, and the sea—an incredibly beautiful and luxurious景色 that was truly soothing. The Hotel had a calm atmosphere, allowing me to relax and enjoy a truly special time. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and I really enjoyed the chilled alcohol in the lounge. They also guided me to the parking area immediately upon arrival as requested in advance, so parking was smooth and my stay was comfortable from start to finish. This is a wonderful Hotel that I would definitely like to use again.

Savor the charm of a classic Hotel.

I stayed in a Main Building suite and was able to fully enjoy the charm of this historic Hotel. It was truly fun to walk around the property, with Rooms once used by famous guests, a grand staircase featured in films and other shoots, and a lobby showcasing beautiful, atmospheric architecture. For dinner, I enjoyed the original Napolitan at “The Cafe.” The staff’s service was also excellent. Next time, I’d like to stay in the New Building as well.

    Exceptional hospitality

They kindly and thoroughly prepared the iron, full-length mirror, kimono hanger, and other items we had requested in advance in our Room. They also arranged a taxi smoothly, which allowed us to put on our kimono in the Room and attend the wedding without any issues. Thank you very much. The “Adult Kids’ Lunch” at “The CAFE” on the first floor is highly recommended. I changed the dessert to “Pudding à la Mode.”

    It was excellent.

Before my stay, I requested a meal at Il Giardino with an in-house tour led by the Grand Master. The tour and the meal were both excellent. I’ve come to love Hotel New Grand. Next time I stay, I’d like to request a meal at Normandy with an in-house tour as well. Even when I’m not staying overnight, I hope to stop by for a meal, tea, or drinks at the bar. When visiting Yokohama, I usually spent most of my time around Minato Mirai, but from now on I think I’ll be spending more time around Yamashita Park and Chinatown near Hotel New Grand. Every member of staff was kind, and I was truly impressed in many ways. Thank you very much!

    Unfortunately.

My first stay at the Hotel New Grand, which I had long admired. For dinner, I enjoyed an “adult kids’ lunch,” took in the lovely atmosphere of the courtyard fountain, and went shopping at SOGO. There were many Chikazawa Lace towel handkerchiefs, so I bought some as souvenirs for my daughters. When I returned to my Room and opened the coffee maker for a coffee break, I found that a previous guest’s capsule was still inside… I didn’t know how many days it had been there, and it was not pleasant. All of the staff provided wonderful service (the doorman’s smile in the cold was especially great), and it truly felt like a comfortable, top-class Hotel—so this made it even more disappointing. Especially at a time when we must be careful about infections, I wanted better cleanliness and maintenance. The next morning’s breakfast at Tankuma was also delicious, but because of this one issue, my satisfaction with this wonderful Hotel dropped to 3.

I was able to relax a lot. I’ll definitely stay again.

We stayed in a suite at this long-established Hotel. It was a relaxing space, and we were able to take our time. After enjoying sparkling wine in the lounge, we took a walk around Yamashita Park, and the night breeze felt wonderful. When we returned to the Hotel, the staff greeted us with warm smiles, saying “Good evening, welcome back,” and even after breakfast, on our way back to our Room, many staff members spoke to us as well. Not only the Hotel itself but also everyone’s hospitality made us feel truly welcomed. We were also happy that we could use the lounge again the day after our stay. We will definitely return. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for a birthday trip.

We stayed here for a family birthday trip. We requested an extra bed for three people, and it wasn’t a temporary one—everyone slept comfortably in the same type of bed. The staff at the entrance and front desk greeted us politely, which made us feel welcome and truly impressed. The Room was quiet, and we really appreciated how quickly they brought the items we requested. For breakfast, we could choose between Western or Japanese options at the restaurant, or Room service, so we decided to try Room service. The bread selection may vary by preference or by Hotel, but the croissant and pain au chocolat were a bit too crispy for our taste—we would have preferred them slightly softer. Next time we visit, we’d love to explore more of the Hotel, such as the restaurant and courtyard.

    The service is very good.

I visited in advance before my stay and expected a Hotel with excellent service based on the lobby atmosphere, and it truly met my expectations. The way breakfast was recommended was also great. However, it was quite warm even for winter, and the Room’s air conditioning didn’t work very well, which made it hard to stay comfortable. Also, the lettering on the air-conditioning controls was small, making it difficult to adjust with age-related farsightedness.

    A Luxurious Stay

I was able to stay at the Hotel New Grand I’d always dreamed of at a great value. Since my Room had a separate bath and shower, it was very comfortable. The amenities were just right—Skincare was Sekkisei (Miyabi), and the hair dryer was Panasonic with plenty of airflow. I did notice a slight odor on the pajamas. I relaxed in the Hotel and also enjoyed Coupe New Grand via room service. Breakfast was unhurried, and the omelet and cinnamon roll were especially delicious. It’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again, whether for a special occasion or not.

Everything was wonderful no matter where we looked!!

I had always wanted to stay at this Hotel, and since I had an event in Yokohama, I decided to book a one-night stay with breakfast. The historic main building was beautiful no matter where I looked, and I found myself wandering around and taking photos every chance I got (lol). For dinner, I tried the traditional doria, and after that I enjoyed a takeout cake in my Room. Both were delicious!! For breakfast, after much deliberation, I chose the Western option and went with the Monte Cristo Breakfast. Along with the soft, sweet-and-salty French toast, I fully enjoyed the view from the window. It was delicious, and it felt like such an elegant moment—thank you very much. If I have the chance to stay again, I'd like to try the Japanese breakfast next time (lol). The staff—at the front desk and restaurant, as well as the doormen and housekeeping—were all gentle and pleasant, which left a great impression. Thank you very much!

    It was amazing!

This time, three of us stayed in a Superior Room. The Room was spacious, and all the beds were semi-double, so everyone could relax comfortably. The view was also great. The front desk staff were very courteous; I mentioned during the Reservation that we were celebrating, and we received a message both at check-in and again in the Room, which made us very happy. We would definitely like to stay again! Thank you for a wonderful time.
